Yerevan /Mediamax/. US State Secretary John Kerry and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, who is paying an official visit to the US, in their public statements did not touch upon either the Armenian Genocide issue or Armenian-Turkish relations.

Kerry and Cavusoglu noted that they are going to discuss the progress on Iran nuclear issue, fight against ISIS, situation in Syria, Libia, Yemen, energetic issues, the Cyprus issue, as well as bilateral cooperation in the NATO framework.

“I want to emphasize this afternoon the importance of the ties between the United States and Turkey, and particularly the security relationship at this particular moment”, - John Kerry said.

During his visit Mevlut Cavusoglu also delivered a speech at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. In his words, “President Erdogan's message last year on the events of 1915 and Prime Minister Davutoglu's condolences to the Ottoman Armenians are step of historic significance”.

“We will continue on this path. We will continue to work for a framework that both addresses the historic aspect of the problem and also helps solve the Nagorno-Karabagh issue.” - Mevlut Cavusoglu said.
