Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Israeli Knesset will discuss the issue of recognition of the Armenian Genocide at 18:00 by Yerevan time today.
Head of the Armenian Case Office in Jerusalem Zhorzheta Avagyan told Mediamax today.
According to her, the oppositional "Meerets" party is the initiator of discussion of recognition of Armenian Genocide.
"It was very surprising for us when the discussion was decided to be held today, on April 23, as the Knesset MPs returned from vacation only yesterday", said Zhorzheta Avagyan.
The Armenian community of Jerusalem will be present at the Knesset discussion.
It's notable that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov is in Israel these days. Head of the Armenian Cause Office said that according to some sources, the Azerbaijani Minister will also be present at the Knesset hearings.
