Georgia to offer Armenia to use NATO training center

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Georgia is ready to train Armenian military servicemen in the NATO Center due to open in the country till late 2015.

The details of establishment of the training center and its location will be specified during the visit of NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow to Tbilisi on January 29-30.

 

Mediamax’s correspondent reports that Deputy Secretary of National Security Council of Georgia Ivlian Khaindrava said that Armenia and Azerbaijan are considered among the NATO partners which military servicemen can be trained in the future training center.

 

“Armenia is a CSTO member, but it takes part in NATO peacekeeping operations as a partner and thus can make use of the center's resources. The military training will mostly focus on peacekeeping operations”, said Ivlian Khaindrava.

 

Georgia already has a training center meeting NATO standards. It's Sachkhere Mountain Training School set up with France's support. The School also trains Armenian servicemen.
