Yerevan /Mediamax/. The command of the Russian military base of the Southern Military District stationed in Armenia has held Doors Open Day at Kahmud high-altitude training ground for 200 students of Yerevan and Gyumri schools of the Russian Defense Ministry.
The officers and the servicemen introduced the children to the military base’s modern defense armament and military equipment as well as to the types of fire arms. Children also got acquainted with the field life of the servicemen, and the uniform and equipment of modern soldiers.
Children were most interested in the flights and landing of “Granat” and “Zastava” unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of “Navodchik-2” investigative complex at Kahmud high-altitude training ground.
Besides getting introduced in theory, the school students also had the chance to fire from Kalashnikov rifle and take part in the paramilitary relay between Gyumri and Yerevan Russian schools.
The festive events completed with the demonstrative shooting from all types of small arms, screening of military-historic movies at the field club and treating to soldier porridge.
