Yerevan /Mediamax/. The official ceremony of rotation of the Armenian contingent serving within UNIFIL (the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) Mission took place on May 30 in Shama (Southern Lebanon).
Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Samvel Mkrtchyan informed Mediamax about it.
The Ambassador said that he met UNIFIL’s Sector West Commander Brigadier-General Arturo Nitti ahead of the ceremony.
Arturo Nitti commands 3800 servicemen from 13 countries.
Samvel Mkrtchyan told Mediamax that the Italian General praised Armenian peacekeepers, marking their capacities, discipline and ability to work in multinational environment. He made a special notice about the Armenian troops’ ability for quick integration.
