Yerevan/Mediamax/. Russian military base, stationed in Armenia, has begun sniper contest at Kakhmud mountainous graining ground. Over 100 snipers of the unit, who undertook a special preparatory course, are taking part in the contest.

The participants will compete in strike accuracy from issue-type weapons, shooting various targets on the distance of 100 and up to 1500 m, skills in camouflaging with improvised means and natural objects, surreptitious movement on an unknown ground, as well as skills in identifying conditional enemy among similarly looking people, hitting the enemy from the first shot and surreptitious departure from fire position.

According to Southern Military District press service, the difficulties of the contest are hot climate and mountainous area, which affect endurance of the participants and ballistic measurement of the weapons.
