Yerevan /Mediamax/. Within the preparation of the new phase of Strategic Defense Review (SDR), the advisory group from U.S. and Great Britain paid a visit to Armenia on July 7-13.
At a meeting with the members of the advisory group, first Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia Davit Tonoyan presented the approaches of the Armenian side concerning organization of the new SDR phase. He noted that the consultancy provided by the international partners in the first phase played an important role in working out final documents.
On July 12, the members of the advisory group were received by Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan. The members of the group presented the draft roadmap of the new SDR phase together with the schedule.
The Armenian Defense Minister noted that the SDR is one of the most important elements of mid- and long-term planning.
Seyran Ohanyan expressed the confidence that the next SDR phase will be carried out in a highly effective manner with joint efforts which will result in shaping the vision of “Armenian Armed Forces-2020”.
