Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan said that IDeA Foundation, which made significant contribution to the education system of Armenia, had come up with an initiative of creating a new education cluster in Dilijan.

Press service of the Ministry of Education and Science informed that Levon Mkrtchyan made this statement while delivering a speech at the first meeting of the interdepartmental work group on the cluster.

According to the Minister, this idea is unique not only for Armenia, but for the entire world as well, as it will include all stages of education, cultural sector, and the scientific component in the future.

“This initiative can change the situation in Dilijan drastically. The idea is huge and requires many years of serious work. It is very important to direct the process in the right direction on the first stage, develop specific methodology, ensure the legal field and pass to the pilot part of the program,” the Minister said.

“I am glad that our philanthropists have the 21st century mindset and come forward with such an initiative, which will receive our support in every possible way,” Levon Mkrtchyan stressed.

While presenting the program, Chair of the Board of Governors of UWC Dilijan College, co-founder of IDeA Foundation and Scholae Mundi Foundations Veronika Zonabend observed that all education programs in Armenia were aimed at making the country an education cluster.

“These are very ambitious goals, and we can achieve them only with joint efforts. That is why we try to carry out all our programs together with institutional and private partners,” Veronika Zonabend said. She noted that certain donors and investors already marked their interest towards the project of creating an education cluster in Dilijan.
