Yerevan/Mediamax/. A number of European politicians and intellectuals, making part of "Europe-Armenia Council”, expressed the hope in Yerevan today that May 6 parliamentary elections in Armenia will be fair and democratic.
Italian MP Ricardo Milliori stated that they saw an atmosphere of healthy competition during the election campaign in Armenia.
According to him, “we have witnessed an almost ideal election campaign when every party could establish communication with the public and the electorate.”
“Armenia is a European county by its history, culture and future. We urge upon the Armenian people to participate in elections and strive for a big future,” he stated.
For his part, Secretary General of “European friends of Armenia” Michael Kambeck said that the holding of democratic elections in Armenia is their hope but not a prediction.
