Yerevan/Mediamax/. The head of the Armenian President’s Staff, Vigen Sargsyan, said that the reports of international observers who monitored May 6 parliamentary elections in Armenia were “objective and professional”.
In an interview to Armenian Public TV, Vigen Sargsyan said noted that the international observers have actually fixed that Armenia has already passed the phase when elections need assessments in terms of meeting standards.
“They presented professional opinions on every component of elections and provided advice on further improvements,” said Vigen Sargsyan.
“The reports are positive enough. They also contain criticism on some incidents, which is very useful, as it allows correcting the mistakes,” said Vigen Sargsyan.
He pointed out that after every election the Armenian authorities scrupulously analyze the reports of international observers and take relevant steps for making legislative amendments and their implementation.
The head of the President’s Staff also stated that the international observers have appraised the steps taken by the authorities aimed at improving the election lists. “The lists were posted at polling stations before the elections, they were available on the internet and all our citizens had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the lists and require corrections if necessary,” said Vigen Sargsyan.
