Armenia expects formation of new legal bases for cooperation with EU

Yerevan /Mediamax. Armenia expects to take steps to form new legal bases for cooperation with the European Union.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said this speaking at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of European Union and Eastern Partnership in Brussels on July 22, Mediamax reports.

 

Edward Nalbandian noted that Armenia is willing to develop partnership with the EU based on the results and progress made over the recent years.

 

“At Vilnius Summit, Armenia and European Union reconfirmed their commitment to continue and strengthen cooperation in all the areas of mutual interest in Eastern Partnership format stressing the importance of updating the legal basis of our cooperation. Armenia expects to take further steps to form new legal bases for the cooperation with EU which for one thing will reflect the results registered during negotiations with Armenia and on for another - consider the new realities”,   said the Armenian FM.

 

Edward Nalbandian also said that Armenia is willing to begin the dialogue on cancellation of visa regime based on the successful experience of Visa Facilitation and Readmission Agreements.
