Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia is going to join the UN peacekeeping operation in Lebanon in October.

Permanent Representative of Armenia to the UN, Ambassador Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated it at the Security Council’s “Peacekeeping Operations: UN and Regional Partnership Evaluation” open discussion.

“As a country engaged in peacekeeping missions, Armenia has gained much practice by taking part in NATO peacekeeping missions in Kosovo and Afghanistan. Armenia is planning to join UN peacekeeping operation in Lebanon in October and it’s a vivid example showing that Armenia has expanded its participation within the United Nations. As an OSCE member state Armenia views the organization’s possible role in peacekeeping missions based on each situation, and cooperates with CSTO states on preparation of peacekeeping operations”, said Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
