Yerevan/Mediamax/. At today's session, the Armenian government decided to allocate USD100 thousand to humanitarian aid for the evicted Yezidis.

According to Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan, given the situation in Iraq, the Armenian government initially decided to allocate the aid at USD50 thousand but the amount has been doubled upon the Armenian President's proposal.

The Deputy Minister noted that they have already discussed the mechanisms of rendering the aid with participation of the Yezidi community in Armenia and added that the aid will be sent once the amount is received.

''To back the Yezidi people, the representatives of the Armenian diplomatic missions, friendly states and international organizations were instructed to hold relevant discussions to stop the violence and mitigate the situation, and the Armenian President has recently instructed to double the efforts'', said Shavarsh Kocharyan.
