Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenia and Georgia are going to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakly Garibashvili who is on an official visit to Armenia stated this today.

“We will be more deepening our cooperation and my visit pursued this goal in the first place. Over our negotiations, we have discussed commercial, economic and regional issues, stress the necessity of strengthening stability in the region”, said the Georgian Prime Minister during the joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Hovik Abrahamyan.

Irakly Garibashvili stressed that over the 6 months of 2014, Armenia-Georgia trade turnover has grown by 42% which bears witness to development of economic ties between the two countries.

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said in his turn that the sides discussed issues related to modernization of border checkpoints and particularly building of new “Bridge of Friendship” on the Bagratashen-Sadakhlu checkpoint.

“The negotiations have been held in the warm and constructive atmosphere typical to friendly states”, said the Armenian PM.

During the press conference, the journalists weren’t given the chance to ask questions to the Prime Ministers. They didn’t touch upon the integration processes in the two countries, either.
