Following Wales Summit, NATO going to strengthen relations with partner states

Yerevan /Mediamax/. After NATO Wales Summit the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is going to deepen and strengthen relations with partner states, including with Armenia.

As Mediamax reports,  at “Impact of NATO Summit on Armenia and South Caucasus” discussion in Yerevan today Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia William Lahue stated that partnership relations will be strengthened with Armenia.

 

The NATO Liaison Officer informed that in order to strengthen relations with partner states “Interoperability Platform” initiative was launched within the framework of Wales Summit. It involves 24 partner states enjoying closest ties with NATO; Armenia is among them.

 

“The meeting of the representatives of countries participating in this platform will take place on September 29, and Armenia will also take part in it. During the meeting we will discuss the structure and goals of the platform; it will help raise the productivity of cooperation with our partners”, the NATO representative said.

 

According to William Lahue, Armenia has been involved in the program of training and developing capacities of civil servants in the defense sector. Discussions on the options of Armenia’s more productive involvement in this program are currently underway.
