UN Development Program (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark said this during her meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, the Armenian presidential press service reports.

Serzh Sargsyan noted that UNDP Armenian Office makes significant contribution to implementation of development programs in various communities, different reforms and subsequent positive changes. The Armenian President also hailed Helen Clark’s personal contribution. The sides attached importance to Armenia’s permanent dialogue and close cooperation with various UN structures and especially UNDP.

To carry out the mission and work out Armenia-UN new framework document, Mrs. Clark stressed the importance of discussion of Armenia’s development priorities with the Armenian government. The UNDP Administration thanked for Armenia’s active involvement in operation of UN and various UN structures including the decision to take part in the peacekeeping actions of the Organization.

Helen Clark also thanked for Armenia’s readiness to take part in rendering aid to the UN High Commissioner’s Office for Refugee Issues,  supporting thousands of Syrians who left Syria for Armenia due to the crisis and elaborating of the UN’s new agenda stated by the Armenian President at the 69th session of UN General Assembly in New York.
