Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia is resolved to develop relations with European Union in all the possible areas.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said this in his statement following the negotiations with Greek President Karolos Papoulias today.

The Armenian President especially hailed the constructive dialogue established between the two countries’ defense ministries which resulted in high level of Armenia-Greece military cooperation.

“Armenian military servicemen have got high-quality education and retraining in the military institutions of friendly Greece for years. It's no mere chance that the interaction of Armenian and Greek military servicemen in international peacekeeping actions have been highly assessed. We have carried out join service in Kosovo for 11 years which have been hailed by many international structures”, said Serzh Sargsyan.

The Armenian President thanked Greece for being one of those states which recognized Armenian Genocide by law and already, “for the important legislative step toward criminalization of genocide denial now”.

“In 2015, the Armenian people will commemorate the Armenian Genocide Centennial. Armenia will become one of the most important platforms of global fight against this crime that year. In April, “Against the Crime of Genocide” international social and political global forum will be held. Among others, we will invite representatives of friendly Greek people as predecessors of Pontic Greeks who were also massacred in a genocide to take part in the forum. I handed over the invitation to Mr. President today to take part in the events in Yerevan due on April 24, 2015”, said the Armenian President.
