Yerevan/Mediamax/. It’s not clear yet whether or not Azerbaijan will take part in the 4th plenary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.

Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of Armenian National Assembly, Co-Chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Culture and Civil Society in Euronest Artak Zakaryan said this today, Mediamax reports.

“During the Bureau session last week, the European Parliament presented the newly elected staff of the Committee. The session approved holding of the 4th plenary session of Euronest Parliamentary Assembly in Armenia on March 16-20, 2015”, he said noting that parliamentary delegations of 5 countries and EP’s team of 60 people are expected to take part in it.

Touching upon Azerbaijan’s actions within Euronest as well as its participation in the upcoming session due in Armenia, the MP said: “I think they don’t have any reasonable reason not to take part in it”.

The MP expressed the hope that the session will be held on a high level in terms of organization and content and a special task force will be created in the Armenian parliament to this end.

“Taking into account the fact of Armenian Genocide Centennial in 2015, various parliamentary organizations, delegations and friendship groups will carry out active works for us to be able to present the issue on the international platforms and get assistance from our partner MPs toward Genocide recognition”, said the MP.

It should be noted that earlier, the Azerbaijani delegation threatened to quit Euronest.
