Yerevan /Mediamax/. Foreign Minister of Armenia presented his counterpart German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier a new edition of around 240 documents on Armenian Genocide kept in German archives.

Upon Mediamax’s request, commenting on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statement a few days ago according to which they “should rely on Turkish libraries and archives while studying 1915 events” which note that Genocide was executed not by Turks but against Turks, Edward Nalbandian particularly said:

“It is weird that the materials on the Genocide preserved in Turkish libraries or archives quite differ from those kept in the archives and libraries across the globe. It’s no mere chance that if Turkey decision-makers rely on such materials, policy of zero problems leads to zero-sum”.

Answering the German journalist’s question whether it’s probable to expect reconciliation with Turkey ahead of the Genocide Centennial, the Armenian FM said that it was Turkey and not Armenia that didn’t find the strength to carry out the agreements reached within Armenia-Turkey Protocols signed in Zurich 5 years ago.

“We did send signs. We and the international community jointly say that the ball is in Turkey’s field”, said Edward Nalbandian.
