Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian described the meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents in Paris on October 27 as "useful, honest and constructive”.

“The discussions were quite interesting. During the Presidents’ meeting, there was an opportunity to touch upon a number of regional and international issues as well which showed that Armenia and Azerbaijan can demonstrate similar approaches on some topics”, said the Minister.

“Perhaps, you notice that there was a positive tinge in my assessments. It’s not accidental. When we say the talks were constructive, honest and useful, it does mean something. I think a small step was taken in Paris to bring the parties’ approaches together. Of course, it is a tough process. Critical progress can hardly be expected with one or a few meetings”, noted Edward Nalbandian.

The Minister said that there was no agreement on the place and timing of the next meeting but the sides arranged to stimulate the contacts.

''There was only one meeting in 2012 and another one in 2013 on a presidential level while already 3 meetings were held in 2014. The contacts have activated. I think active contacts on the level of Foreign Ministers and Presidents will continue'', said Edward Nalbandian.
