Yerevan /Mediamax/. Ambassador of Ukraine to Armenia Ivan Kukhta stated today that neither Armenia, nor Ukraine have given their consent to Yerevan-Simferopol direct flights.
At the meeting with journalists today the Ambassador commented on information about Yerevan-Simferopol direct flights and said he has had meetings at the Foreign Ministry of Armenia and the General Department of Civil Aviation to discuss this issue, Mediamax reports.
“I was told that nobody has given their consent to Yerevan-Simferopol flights. The flights are operated in conformity with international norms and bilateral agreements. All flights between Armenia and Ukraine are agreed between the parties on diplomatic level”, said Ivan Kukhta.
Last week Grozny Avia Commercial Director Sergei Petrov told Mediamax correspondent that the air company will start regular flights Simferopol-Yerevan-Simferopol from November 16.
Following it, the General Department of Civil Aviation adjunct to the Armenian government refuted the information.
By the way, UK Ambassador to Armenia Katherine Leach said today they do not encourage Yerevan-Simferopol flights which can “legalize the Crimean authorities”.
