Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian has said today that Armenia will continue keeping Syria’s issues in the center of attention of the international community.

Edward Nalbandian has said this in Damascus, addressing a joint press conference with Deputy Prime Minister of Syria, Foreign Minister Walid al Muallem today.

The Armenian FM has noted that Armenia is deeply concerned about the ongoing clashes in Syria, the humanitarian crisis and numerous victims and calamities caused by terrorism acts in the country.

Edward Nalbandian has recalled that the terrorists’ barbarism also affected Armenian Holy Martyrs Church containing the remains of the Armenian Genocide victims in Deir ez-Zor.

“We are constantly worried about the state of the civilians in Syria including Armenians and other minorities. With this regard, I would like to express our gratitude to the Syrian authorities for their care for the Armenian community and our cultural heritage”, said the Armenian FM.

He also expressed the confidence that it is only possible to overcome the crisis and establish peace through stopping violence and starting a constructive dialogue taking into account all the Syrians.
