Yerevan /Mediamax/. The issue of criminalization of the Armenian Genocide in Russia shouldn’t be considered as a means of proving or figuring out anything in the bilateral relations.

Senior associate at the Institute of Oriental Studies of Armenian National Academy of Sciences Vahram Ter-Matevosyan expressed the opinion commenting upon Mediamax’s request on the submission of the draft law on criminalization of the Armenian Genocide to the Russian State Duma.

“We appreciate the fact that Armenia’s strategic ally brings the state stance on the Genocide condemnation up to a new level. At the same time, the timing and circumstances give us a good reason to think”, said Vahram Ter-Matevosyan.

Speaking about the possibility of revising Moscow and Kars Agreements between Russia and Turkey, the expert has noted that to this end, geopolitical shocks and such a shift in the correlation of forces is required that Armenia and Russia will be in the winning side and will share the achieved.

“Armenians should give up excessive and ungrounded excitement as the opposite thing was disastrous in early 20th century. In such cases, Armenians should demonstrate a united thought, wisdom and ability to serve them to tangible and visible goals”, concluded Vahram Ter-Matevosyan.
