Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian government places a high value on continuous development and expansion of the partnership with the U.S. in political and economic sectors, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the meeting with newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy on March 22.
Pashinyan told Ambassador Tracy that Armenia is resolutely moving forward along the road of development and strengthening of democracy, the fight against corruption and monopoly as well as protection of human rights and freedom and speech, and attaches importance to cooperation and joint actions with the U.S. in the mentioned areas.
“Ambassador Tracy reiterated the United States’ firm commitment to supporting self-governed Armenia through collaboration in the scope of democratic agenda, anti-corruption efforts, economic development, and regional and global security,” the Armenian government said in a press release.
The parties also exchanged thoughts about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and other regional issues.
