Yerevan/Mediamax/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in Yerevan today that "Russia is interested in speedy peace process of Karabakh conflict”.

At the joint press-conference with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandyan the Russian FM stated that “Russia supports all efforts advancing the resolution of this crisis”.

“The more meetings the Presidents have, the more dynamic the negotiation process will be”, said Sergey Lavrov.

He also noted that the basic decision lies in the principles contained in the statements of the Russian, U.S. and French leaders on Karabakh conflict peace process and passed over the past years. According to Sergey Lavrov, most importantly the parameters and the sequence of measures to be taken should be agreed upon.

In his turn, Edward Nalbandyan pointed out that “recently the proposals of the Co-Chairs on issues such as strengthening ceasefire, withdrawal of snipers and creating a mechanism of investigating incidents on the line of contact are not to Baku’s liking”.

“There is simply no specifics which is alternative to the proposals made by the Co-Chairs and which are aimed at solely peace process of Karabakh conflict”, stated Edward Nalbandyan.
