Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said in Basel today that the works on elaboration of the comprehensive peace agreement can only start after agreement around basic principles.
Upon Mediamax’s request, commenting on the call contained in the statement made by heads of OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ delegations to “begin the talks on comprehensive peace agreement as soon as possible”, Edward Nalbandian said:
“The basic principles can be considered concerted when Nagorno Karabakh gives its consent. Only after such agreement will we be able to start working out the comprehensive peace agreement'', said the Armenian FM.
Touching upon the recent meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents in Paris, the Minister said that “nothing new was discussed in Paris”.
''In Paris, it was proposed to make a joint statement pointing out the famous 3 principles – non-use of force, right of self-determination and territorial integrity - but Azerbaijan refused, so the joint statement was not made”, noted Edward Nalbandian.
