Yerevan/Mediamax/. The NKR President’s spokesman Davit Babayan has today stated that Azerbaijan has long become a fascist state which is indicated by Baku’s constant escalation of the situation on the border with Armenia and Artsakh.

Davit Babayan has said this addressing a press conference in Yerevan today.

“Azerbaijan has long become a fascist state, a state demonstrating an aggressive behavior in domestic and foreign affairs. On the foreign front, it is manifested by provoking undisguised aggression against Armenia and Artsakh, and persecutions of activists and dissidents inside the country”, said the NKR President’s spokesman.

He explained official Baku’s provocation of new tension on the border by the parliamentary elections due to be held in Azerbaijan this year. According to him, ahead of the elections, the ruling Aliyev’s clan in Azerbaijan has adopted the strategy of diverting their people’s attention from the domestic issues and renovating Armenia’s and Artsakh’s image as an external enemy.

“The rival tries to transform the discontent in the country and shift the country’s issues on Armenia and Artsakh. It’s a campaign typical to them. We have repeatedly voiced Baku’s anti-Armenian policy but we haven’t seen the adequate response from the international community. Vice versa, the first European Games were held in this fascist country. An aggressor is encouraged by impunity”, noted Davit Babayan.

He has stressed that the Artsakh Defense Armey controls the situation on the contact line and the rival does not have any advantage.
