Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stated that the imperative for today is to bridle the dangerous attempts of solving the NK conflict by force.

Edward Nalbandian said this at the meeting with the Foreign Ministers of the EU Eastern Partnership and the Visegrad Four in Prague.

Nalbandian reminded that the Joint Declaration of the EU Eastern Partnership, adopted at the summit in Riga, reaffirmed the organization’s support for the OSCE Minsk Group’s efforts aimed on peaceful settlement of the NK issue.

“We all remember Azerbaijan’s attempts to prevent the adoption of the final document at the summit, taking references to the statements of the Minsk Group Co-Chair states’ leaders as a reason.

Nevertheless, Baku continued to reject the international community’s calls for exclusively peaceful settlement of the issue. The large-scale military actions Azerbaijan unleashed against Nagorno-Karabakh in early April led to many killed and wounded and were accompanied by gross violations of commitments to the international humanitarian law and human rights,” stated Edward Nalbandian.

The Foreign Minister stressed that Baku attempts to cast a doubt over the validity of the Agreements of 1994 and 1995 by sending respective letters to the OSCE and the UN.

“These attempts failed owing to quick response of the Minsk Group Co-Chair states that called to fully respect the Ceasefire Agreements of 1994 and 1995. Azerbaijan continues to violate the ceasefire, concentrating heavy weaponry and Armed Forces on the entire length of the Line of Contact, intensifying its militant rhetoric and spreading provocative propaganda on the international platform,” emphasized Edward Nalbandian.

He said that Armenia will spare no efforts while working with the Minsk Group Co-Chair states on the peaceful settlement of the NK issue.
