Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian MFA Spokesperson Tigran Balayan noted that President of Azerbaijan’s latest statements “can be considered another failed attempt to distort the truth and misinterpret the negotiation process”.

Tigran Balayan made this statement while answering the question from RFE/RL Armenian Service.

“The statements by the heads of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair states, which President Aliyev quoted, express clearly that the status of Nagorno-Karabakh will be decided by the declaration of will of the NKR people, which will be legally binding.

It would be better for the Azerbaijani authorities not to deceive themselves, pulling wool over the eyes of the Azerbaijani society. A week ago, the leader of Azerbaijan publicly revealed the true content of the negotiations, noting that Baku is advised to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh,” said Armenian MFA Spokesperson.

During the interview with Director General of Rossiya Segodnya media group Dmitry Kiselev, Ilham Aliyev presented his vision of the NK issue settlement, which indicates that “Nagorno-Karabakh can become an autonomous republic within Azerbaijan”.
