Yerevan/Mediamax/. The opening of a new Republican Medical Center after Sarkis and Amalia Karapetyans was held in Stepanakert today.

The Medical Center with an area of about 10 thousand square meters is fit out with most up-to-date medical and diagnostic and surgical equipment having no analogues in the whole Transcaucasia.

"Tashir" group financially supported the charity project. The overall volume of monetary funds including construction and upgrade of the center made USD22mln.

The construction of the new medical center started back in 2008. It was set up in a close vicinity to the old city hospital of Stepanakert. The Center will provide high-tech medical aid to the NKR people on the level of leading world clinics. It's fit out with the foremost equipment, new generation medical, diagnostic and resuscitation devices produced by leading companies of the world and is capable of receiving up to 136 patients on a stationary basis.

President of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan, former President of NKR Arkadi Ghukasyan, Speaker of the Armenian parliament Hovik Abrahamyan, members of House of Lords of the British parliament, Baroness Caroline Cox, head of the Artsakh Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, Chairman of NKR National Assembly Ashot Gulyan, Prime Minister of NKR Ara Harutyunyan, President of "Tashir" group Samvel Karapetyan, guests from abroad and Diaspora took part in the opening ceremony.

The hospital has departments of hemodialysis, therapeutic, surgical and intensive therapy departments, a surgical unit, department of emergency and urgent care including 2 surgical wings and resuscitation.

The hospital was already provided with two modern resuscitation machines which are the first cars in the republic of such a high class allowing to employ the most progressive standards of treatment.

The hospital is equipped with foremost administration and engineering systems.
