Yerevan /Mediamax/. EU will carry out 15 new projects with a total budget of EUR 10mln in Armenia.

The official ceremony for the signature of 15 new contracts was held in Yerevan today. The projects will support civil society and local authorities as well as government reforms in Armenia.

The 15 contracts are in various fields of bilateral and regional cooperation – from agriculture and rural development through human rights and democracy to poverty reduction and sustainable urban development.

Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea stated in his speech that the EU remains committed to further engage with Armenia.

“Armenia is a key partner for us, and we are happy that our assessments comply with the statements of our Armenian-based partners who claim that the EU is a key partner for Yerevan”, he said.

Traian Hristea also noted that the EU remains Armenia’s number one trade partner in export and import volumes as well as its largest investor and donor.
