Armenian PM to head Anti-Corruption Board

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Anti-Corruption Board and an experts’ group will be set up in Armenia.

The relevant draft decree of the government was today approved by the cabinet of ministers, Mediamax reports.

 

Presenting the draft decree, Minister of Justice of Armenia Hovhannes Manukyan noted that it stems from the concept of combating corruption.

 

According to the Minister, the newly established Board will be headed by Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.

 

The Board will comprise Chief of Staff of the Armenian government Davit Harutyunyan, Minister of Finance Gagik Khachatryan, Minister of Justice Hovhannes Manukyan, Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan and President of Public Council Vazgen Manukyan. President of Committee on Ethics of Senior Officials, representatives of parliamentary factions, community union and civil society.

 

A group of independent experts will be attached to the Board.

 

“The Board is to be established as the main anti-corruption body based on the preventive institutional model and will pursue an anti-corruption strategy'', said Hovhannes Manukyan.

 

The Minister said that the draft was reviewed on various platforms and submitted to public discussion.
