Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Government approved Syunik Governor Surik Khachatryan’s resignation during today’s session and released him of his duties.
Mediamax notes that Surik Khachatryan was once released from his position and reappointed again on the same position in three years’ time.
On June 6, 2013 Armenian Government accepted Surik Khachatryan’s resignation during the session and released him of his duties. One person was killed and two people were wounded during the incident near Surik Khachatryan’s house on the evening of June 1, 2013.
National Assembly MP Vahe Hakobyan was appointed Syunik Governor on June 10, 2013. Vahe Hakobyan is the son of Maksim Hakobyan, General Manager at Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine.
The Government accepted Syunik Governor Vahe Hakobyan’s resignation during the session on September 4, 2014. Surik Khachatryan was again appointed Syunik Governor.
