Yerevan /Mediamax/. Yelk alliance stated today that the official results of the May 14 elections to the Yerevan Council of Elders generally reflected the choice of the citizens.

The alliance representative Edmon Marukyan read the statement to the press, noting that “the Armenian Republican Party’s stations handed bribe for votes on the elections day, and the trusted people of the alliance have indisputable proof of that”.

Edmon Marukyan added that “law enforcement bodies displayed inaction and even supported the bribery”.

Leader of Yelk’s party list Nikol Pashinyan noted that “they didn’t manage to convince people to vote without the bribery”.

“It is a fact, and we must defeat that phenomenon,” he said.

Touching on post-electoral developments, Nikol Pashinyan said there is no need of those “as the people who took bribe for votes won’t join us”.

Nikol Pashinyan informed that he will continue working in the National Assembly.
