Yerevan/Mediamax/. President of National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan has stated today that "transitional justice should cleanse the judiciary, which is suffering from grave issues”.
“The purpose of transitional justice is to create independent courts, find solutions and lead to public accord, not aggravate the existing problems,” Mirzoyan said during the transitional justice discussions at the National assembly.
According to him, Armenia needs to determine if current judiciary actually fulfills the duties assigned to it by the citizens.
“Transitional justice does not mean arbitration tribunals, where various people can make decisions. It should support, cleanse and establish the existing judicial system in a legitimate way,” noted Mirzoyan.
