Yerevan /Mediamax/. Press center of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia reported today that the prosecution of former Armenian Foreign Minister, MP Vardan Oskanian was halted.

The press release notes that Vardan Oskanian testified on July 19, 2013 admitting that he used

$ 250 795 out of the funds transferred by John Huntsman to Civilitas foundation to solely charity ends considering it as his personal share in the deal.

In the statement submitted to NSS the former FM called his opinion that his personal funds and Civilitas funds “a single whole” his major mistake and he used the sums of Civilitas to personal ends in some cases. But the opposite happened as well - he transferred his personal funds to the Foundation.

Vardan Oskanian expressed the readiness to cover the sum of tax duties.

“Taking into account that Vardan Oskanian voluntarily covered the sum of tax duties at AMD 20 140 324, the preliminary investigation decided to halt the prosecution against Vardan Oskanian”, the press release of the NSS press center reads this.
