Yerevan /Mediamax/. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon voiced his deep concerns to the heightened tension on the contact line between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
In particular, the UN Secretary-General urged all parties to respect the ceasefire agreement, refrain from further violence and commit themselves to immediate de-escalation of the tension, according to the statement.
Ban Ki-moon also called on the parties to continue dialogue in the pursuit of a rapid and peaceful political solution.
“The Secretary-General expresses his full support for the efforts by the OSCE and other parties working to resolve this dangerous situation and seeking ways for the peace process of Karabakh conflict”, the statement reads.
