Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stated today that Azerbaijan is not ready for NK settlement based on the proposals made by the Co-Chairs yet.

Edward Nalbandian said this addressing a joint news conference with UNDP Administrator Helen Clark answering Mediamax correspondent’s question in Yerevan today.

Addressing a speech at the 69th session of UN National Assembly a few days ago, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov touched upon the role of the international and regional organizations in NK peace process stressing the importance of the resolutions on NK issue adopted by them.

“The list mentioned by the Azerbaijani FM doesn’t contain OSCE Minsk Group and Co-Chairs who have an international mandate in mediating NK issue and rendering assistance to the parties. The organizations voiced by the Azerbaijani FM do not have the mandate, and moreover, they do not engage in NK issue at all”, said the Armenian FM.

According to Edward Nalbandian, such behavior demonstrated by official Baku indicates that Azerbaijan is trying to shift the NK peace process to other formats.

“It comes to prove once more that Azerbaijan is not ready yet for the settlement of the issue based on the proposals made by Minsk Group Co-Chairs and particularly the statements and proposals made by the Co-Chairs in L'Aquila, Muskoka, Deauville, Los Cabos and Enniskillen. These 5 statements thoroughly comprise the international community’s proposals on the settlement of the issue”, said Edward Nalbandian.
