Armenia and Iran to cancel the visa regime

Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Armenian government approved the proposal on lifting the visa regime between Armenia and Iran today.

According to Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan, the cancelation of the visa regime is due to the desire of both sides to promote further development of relations between the two countries, strengthening of mutually beneficial economic, commercial and other ties, as well as to regulate the regime of mutual trips of citizens of both countries.

 

According to the decision, the citizens of Iran and Armenia may enter, transit, stay and leave the territory of the other contracting party for a maximum period of 90 days within 180 days without a visa. Extension of 90-day period is granted by the competent authorities of the parties.

 

The citizens of both countries may enter, transit, stay and leave the territory of the other party without a visa if they have diplomatic passport, citizen’s passport and certificate of permission to return to own country.

 

With another decision, Agreement on the facilitation of visas between the Republic of Armenia and the Swiss Confederation is approved, the purpose of which is to facilitate the issuance of visas to the Armenian citizens who want to stay in Switzerland for not more than 90 days in 180-day period with specific purpose.
