Yerevan /Mediamax/. Upon the invitation of Initiatives for Development of Armenia (IDeA) Foundation and Acronis Company, Norwegian grandmaster and World Champion Magnus Carlsen ranked number one on World Chess Federation (FIDE) rating, will visit Armenia on June 22-24.
World Cup-Holder, three-time winner of World Chess Olympiad, World Team Chess Champion within the Armenian chess team, grandmaster Levon Aronian will host Magnus Carlsen in Yerevan.
Within the visit Acronis Founder and CEO, Parallels and Runa Capital Venture Fund Founder Serguei Beloussov, Russian Venture Investor, Almaz Capital Partners Co-Founder and Managing Partner Alexander Galitsky, Chair of Nanophysics and Photonics at the University of Southampton Alexander Kavokin, Aide to Tatarstan President for Economic Affairs Ayrat Khayrullin, Parellels Inc. CEO Birger Steen and others will arrive in Yerevan.
The guests will visit Tatev Monastery, where they will get acquainted with the history of the medieval monastic complex, architecture as well as the projects IDeA carries out in Tatev. The grandmasters will hold a simultaneous chess match on 20 chess boards. The best competitors will be awarded prizes.
Meetings with high-ranking Armenian state and religious authorities, representatives of IT and chess spheres are scheduled within the visit.
