Yerevan /Mediamax/. Regional conference on combating illegal drug circulation started in Yerevan today.
At the opening of the conference, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern noted that illegal drug circulation is an international issue and should be addressed on a global scale and cooperation with various countries is critical to this end.
Head of the Armenian President’s Staff Vigen Sargsyan noted that Armenia is continuously working at revealing and preventing illegal drug circulation.
“Armenia successfully cooperates with international structures and particularly UN Office on Drugs and Crime. We attach importance to experience exchange, cooperation with international structures, ensuring scientific and methodological operation of governmental structures and staff retraining”, said Vigen Sargsyan.
Chairman of Investigative Committee of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan noted that technical consultancy and assistance as well as their continuous professional improvement can be very important while combating drug circulation.
