Yerevan/Mediamax/. The presentation of "Armenian Genocide: Frontpage Coverage in the Foreign Media” book by Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, Secretary of State Commission on coordination of the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial Hayk Demoyan took place in Yerevan today.

The book came out in 2 languages - Armenian and English.

 

“The book is the result of a long-lasting collective work. The museum possesses the original copies of almost all the newspapers presented in the book. This is a collection purchased from various auctions and donated by certain individuals'', said the author of the book.

 

Hayk Demoyan said that he is going to send 3 copies of the book to the Turkish authorities.

 

''Within upcoming 2 months, the Museum-Institute will initiate intensive publishing works. Simultaneously, we are preparing for temporary exhibitions. All the exhibitions outside Armenia will be organized on a high level and will be accompanied by multilingual catalogues'', said the Director of the Museum-Institute.

 

Hayk Demoyan noted that the Museum-Institute plans 22 temporary exhibitions next year. In March 2015, a major exhibition will be organized in Paris City Hall. ''In half a year, when the permanent exhibition opens in the museum, we will present an unprecedented thing to the public. The museum will be represented in any corner of the world - from Australia to Canada. We have invitations which we have already accepted'', said the Director of the Museum-Institute.

 

Addressing a speech at the book presentation, Chief of Armenian President's Staff, Coordinator of State Commission on coordination of the events dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide Vigen Sargsyan said that the work fully complies with the Armenian side's goals within the context of the Armenian Genocide Centennial events.

 

''We see from the book that various individuals and structures rendered large-scale support to our people during those toughest days. From these pages, once again do we see who stood by us, whose work and words helped us overcome all this'', said Vigen Sargsyan.
