Yerevan/Mediamax/. Russian soldier Valery Permyakov suspected of shooting dead a family of six in Gyumri was found by Russian frontiers and arrested adjacent to Bayandur village in Shirak region last night.

Shirak region prosecutor Raffi Aslanyan informed GALA TV about this.

 

According to preliminary data, Valery Permyakov was attempting to cross the Armenian-Turkish border.

 

On January 12, Armenian and Russian officials discussed the gruesome killing during meetings and phone talks.

 

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan had a phone talk with Russian FM Sergey Lavrov during which they discussed the slaughter of Avetisyan family in Gyumri. The interlocutors stressed the importance of collaboration of Armenian and Russian law enforcement agencies on this matter.

 

Sergey Lavrov assured the Russian party will do its best for the quick detection of the crime.

 

On January 12, Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan received Ambassador of Russia Ivan Volynkin who noted that the Russian party is interested in the quick clearance of the case and pressing charges against those guilty of it. He stressed that the leadership of the Russian military base in Gyumri fully collaborates with the Armenian law enforcement agencies and supports the investigation.

 

First Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia Davit Tonoyan discussed the slaughter of the family with Military Attache of the Embassy of Russia in Armenia Andrey Beryozkin.

 

In the early morning of January 12, six members of Avetisyan family were killed in Gyumri – Seryozha Avetisyan, Hasmik Avetisyan, Aida Avetisyan, Armen Avetisyan, Araksya Poghosyan, and Hasmik Avetisyan. Seryozha Avetisyan born in 2014 was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. The child underwent a surgery.
