Yerevan /Mediamax/. French President Francois Hollande said he would attend a remembrance ceremony to be held in Yerevan on April 24.
Francois Hollande stated this at an annual dinner held by an Armenian association in Paris, Nouvelles d'Armenie magazine reports.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan invited Francois Hollande as well as leaders of more than 100 states to take part in the events dedicated to Canakkale battle on April 24.
The French leader turned to Turkey at the dinner saying: “It is time to break the taboos for the two nations for a new beginning”.
The French President said the efforts to reveal the truth of Armenian issue between the two countries should continue. "We will see new gestures and new steps on the road to recognition on the 100th commemoration year", he said.
The dinner hosted over 450 people. Armenia’s Ambassador to Switzerland, world-famous chansonnier Charles Aznavour also attended the dinner.
