Yerevan/Mediamax/. A joint system of transport control will be introduced in Armenia within which police video cameras will be installed on 10 crossroads of Yerevan till the end of 2011.

Deputy Chief of Police of Armenia Artur Osikyan said this today, Mediamax reports. This year Center for violation registration will be exploited, and radars on automatic measurement of transport speed will be installed on several roads of regional significance.

A tender was announced for the program implementation, and the Swedish Sensis traffic AB won it. According to the contract, signed by Sensis traffic AB and Armenian Police, the company will be exploiting the joint system of traffic observation within 25 years.

The program costs approximately € 9.8mln.
