Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today at the session that the government will examine the full document presented by the expert group on Amulsar exploitation and draw relevant conclusions.

The government received the document on August 13.

Upon the Armenian Prime Minister’s request, Chairman of the Armenian Investigative Committee Hayk Grigoryan presented the conclusion consisting of 200 pages.

“According to the presented report, there is no connection between Amulsar groundwater and Jermuk thermal springs.

There is also no connection between Sevan Lake basin and Amulsar groundwater, though penetration of acid drainage concentration is possible through Spandaryan-Kechut reservoir into Lake Sevan basin in case of an earthquake. However, the presence of concentration in Lake Sevan basin is insignificant.

The influence of Amulsar groundwater on the Darb, Vorotan, Arpa rivers is possible, but in case Lydian takes the 16 mitigation measures suggested by the expert group, those risks will be manageable,” Hayk Grigoryan stated.

He informed that Lydian’s experts are ready to apply 15 out of 16 suggestions, of which 10 are already being implemented, and 5 are planned to be applied in the future. Another one is in discussion stage, and it relates to the implementation of the mitigation measures over 500 years instead of 100 years after the exploitation.

“The report allows assuming that there is no foundation for criminal prosecution in this case, which has been investigated for more than a year.  The next step will be the dismissal of the case,” Chairman of the Armenian Investigative Committee noted.
