Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia’s membership to Customs Union will be significant for the development of competition and the reduction of market concentration level.
Head of State Committee for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) of Armenia Artak Shaboyan stated it today.
“The main problem with competition in Armenia is that Armenia is a small country and our domestic markets are limited. The local production is not able to successfully compete with the imported goods”, he said.
According to Artak Shaboyan, after Customs Union membership, Armenian enterprises will get great opportunities in terms of export and acquisition of foreign markets.
“The membership will boost the growth of enterprises and production volumes, which will ultimately reduce concentration level”, Artak Shaboyan said.
