The inaugural ceremony of the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity took place on April 24 in Yerevan, which was a significant event not only for Armenia, but for all the Armenians in the world.

In cooperation with the Aurora Prize/100 LIVES initiatives, Mediamax presents photo reports telling about the scenes from the ceremony and other events that remained off-screen.

Please review the first and the second photo reports.

Months of hard work preceded the Aurora Prize ceremony. Ceremony director Grigory Revzin and 100 LIVES initiative Operations Director Elena Avetisyan are making the last corrections at the final rehearsal.

Elena Avetisyan and George Clooney are in a good mood.

George Clooney is discussing the ceremony script with Not on Our Watch board member John Prendergast and the Aurora Prize/100 LIVES co-founder Vartan Gregorian.

Clooney continues the discussion on the stage with Ruben Vardanyan and the ceremony hosts - opera diva Hasmik Papian and Washington Post columnist, writer David Ignatius.

Hasmik Papian and David Ignatius are quick to understand each other.

George Clooney is probably paying a compliment to Hasmik Papian.

Father Mesrop Aramyan is following the conversation between Ruben Vardanyan and Noubar Afeyan.

It’s nice to relax after tense discussions.

And have more and more fun.

“What do you think, should we change this line too? Director will kill us, but let’s try.”

Artistic director of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia Sergey Smbatyan has no time to relax.

The dancers headed by Rudolf Kharatyan find a good reason to take pictures with George Clooney and Noubar Afeyan.

After successful completion of the ceremony, it is nice to relax some more.

So is taking pictures with the Aurora Prize Ceremony partner and VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian and his wife.

Ruben Vardanyan and songwriter and poet Marine Ales after the end of the ceremony. Can you guess who’s trying to “photobomb” them?

Please review the first and the second photo reports.
