Today the Russian Foreign Ministry published the press release of the meeting of Russian FM Sergei Lavrov with U.S. Secretary of State in Rome on December 14.

The negotiations lasted over three hours. The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the parties discussed Palestinian and Syrian issues and Iran's nuclear program.

“In the context of the situation in southeastern Ukraine, the consistent implementation of the Minsk agreements was highlighted and the convening of a meeting of the contact group for this purpose as early as possible. When discussing bilateral relations, Lavrov stressed that their development is possible only on the basis of equality and mutual interests, whereas attempts to exert pressure on Russia have no prospect”, the press release reads.
