Georgia cancels visas for Iranian citizens

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Georgia will take specific steps towards the cancelation of the visa regime with Iran, Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili said on Monday during a telephone conversation with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

According to News Georgia, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania today informed Iranian Ambassador that Georgia will cancel visa regime for the citizens of Iran on 15 February.

 

Iran's citizens will be able to stay in Georgia for 45 days without a visa from the date of arrival.

 

Georgia reintroduced visa requirements for Iranian citizens in 2013 - two and a half years after its cancellation. Georgian authorities explain then they had made this decision considering UN recommendations.
